Tonight we finally got to check out The Meatball Shop, recommended by New York Magazine and The New York Times as well as every foodie blog based in the five boroughs. We managed to slip in during a brief lull and quickly befriended the charming bartender, Brian as well as our fellow diners.
Open until 4 AM Thursday – Saturday (and 2 AM on other nights), The Meatball Shop focuses on meatballs and their various settings. For now, they offer meatballs made from chicken, pork, beef, veggies, salmon plus a weekly special. With the most expensive item at a mere $9, this restaurant offers an extremely inviting atmosphere, amazing food and friendly service at a very affordable price point. (To all the non-meat-eaters out there, I highly recommended the veggie meatballs. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing, but they tasted like meat to me.) I can’t recommend this place enough and judging from the throngs lining up daily, it seems I’m not the only one.
