Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know it’s Fashion Week in Manhattan–one of my favorite events in the City. I am fascinated with the long-limbed, genetic jackpot winners that flood Manhattan twice a year–whether they’re clustered together speaking a foreign language or looking lost in Soho, their chiseled bone structures and god-like physiques can’t help but seize the attention of us mere mortals. I also relish observing the birth of runway trends and tracing their lineage from Prada to J.Crew’s classy facsimiles with a twist to affordable disposables from H & M to Chinatown vendors hawking blatant knock-offs.
This charming promotional video for an East London clothing retailer captures the essence of fashion’s intrinsic, ephemeral quality. In 100 seconds, these dancers showcase 100 different outfits throughout the past century. Really amazing stuff!
