In the mid-2000’s, writer and interior designer Rita Konig first caught my eye in the pages of Domino. With her sophisticated yet attainable style that is at once polished and relaxed, Konig’s accessible design has heavily influenced my own aesthetic.
Below is a peak into her East Village apartment, and I adore the cozy English quality that practically begs for a movie night by the fire. Using dog-eared paperbacks, tchotchkes and keepsakes, Konig’s true gift lies in personalizing every inch of a space, with the conversion of a cramped closet into an intimate office the ultimate testament of her handiwork.
